DevOps Engineer - Offer Optimization, Hertz, Dynamic Pricing

Summary of the Role

You will be part of a collaborative team within OfferLabs to develop, implement, and enhance the build and deployment solutions for the Fast Data Platform.

In this role, you will have a chance to:

• Support existing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery operations by creating and maintaining Azure DevOps pipelines and releases in test and production environments, collaborating with various teams, and aligning with Offer guidelines.

• Contribute to setting up and maintaining test and production environments using Azure services and other cloud infrastructure technologies such as GitOps, Azure DevOps, Azure Kubernetes Services, and ArgoCD.

• Ensure the reliability and scalability of the system through continuous monitoring and performance optimization. Enhance and automate alerting.

• Collaborate with the Security team to ensure security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

• Oversee and implement change, release, and test processes, and promote automation of these processes, adhering to Amadeus change and release management guidelines.

• Mentor other developers on the team to share knowledge on DevOps activities, provide training, and maintain up-to-date documentation.

• Problem & Incident Management: Identify root causes, troubleshoot, and resolve issues efficiently. Propose improvements to prevent recurrence of issues.

• Maintain communication with other DevOps teams in Offer to promote best practices and benefit from shared experiences.

• Follow the latest Shift3 initiatives on DevOps activities, such as the streamlined Releasing Process (Java Build), and apply relevant practices according to Offer guidelines.

About the Ideal Candidate

• Masters or Engineer Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• More than 2 years of experience in a similar role.

• Team player with good communication skills.

• Autonomy and proactivity.

• Good level of professional English is required.

The following technical skills are required:

• Java, Skube, Angular, Python

• Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Helm, Openshift

• CI/CD: ArgoCD (GitOps)

Business Environment

The Airline Solutions Engineering division, part of the Travel Unit, is accountable for the optimal delivery of the technology and solutions required to achieve the Altea business objectives. The group encompasses several domains and a large set of activities: Offer, Order and Traveler Touchpoints & Experience (formerly Digital for Airlines), Services, and Transversal R&D. Within Altea Engineering, Offer is responsible for IT solutions for airlines: we are building offers both adapted to the end-user (with the right price and flexibility) and that maximize airlines' revenue. The area is tech-savvy! We build upon technology: Performance, for example, is key to making sure flight search transactions are fast, efficient, and cost-effective; Data processing and machine learning are used across our solutions to optimize our search, power our dynamic pricing, and forecast airline revenue management. We have a rich ecosystem of applications, OBE, data, OJF, or cloud-native Skube. On the business side, we work on a stimulating mix of critical Airline Solution functionalities like airline search or inventory, and new solutions with a great commercial dynamic like revenue management, dynamic pricing, or Altea NDC. One key mission of the Airline Solutions Engineering group is to enable and support our customers in the retailing transformation and to deliver our airline retailing vision: Nevio, the future of the PSS (formerly known as Next-Gen Altéa, Nevio)! Within Airline Solutions, Offer is really at the heart of this transformation: we are building the new Offer Management System with a platform-oriented approach, creating from scratch several new components with a state-of-the-art microservice/event-driven approach!

The Group (OPT) The Offer Price and Optimization (OPT) group is responsible for building a new generation of Price, Product, and retailing optimization solutions inside the Offer domain. OPT is a main contributor to the launch of the Airline Retailing Offering Platform Nevio.

The Project (Da Vinci RMS) The aim of the Da Vinci RMS project is to create an integrated revenue optimization system where revenue management and dynamic pricing seamlessly collaborate to maximize Hertz's profitability. This is the first step to demonstrate Amadeus's ability to do revenue management beyond the airline industry.
